Graduation is the most anticipated event in your life. Being able to graduate and pass all the stressful challenging days of your life is the best feeling in this world. Your school days are finally over, and now you are heading to the new chapter of your life and that is welcoming the reality of it, welcoming the jungle of professionals and the spot you are dreaming off!
Most millennial nowadays are confused of which path to take, whether he or she will push a career out of his or her passion, or take the path or the career which his or her course will be credited. It is not easy to decide, that’s for sure because it is your first time. Before you just dreamed of this moment to happen, but once the reality strike you then you got a problem.
- Take time to rest, at least two months after graduation
Don’t stress yourself so much of looking for a job right after the graduation time. I’m not saying that don’t look for job right away, but you know used this time to relax and on a daily basis do some research of the company you would want to be in to. Used that free time to evaluate the things you are good at and what path to take.
- Use that free time to reflect
Trust your guts. Know what you are passionate about, what drives you to do well and be successful in it. Remember that this is not college anymore, where you just chill and just party here and there. Entering the corporate world you must remember that you will be working eight hours a day Monday to Friday and sometimes Saturday, be ready to say goodbye to most of your social life. You do not want to be dried out by the end of your work life. That is why decisions matter the most.
- Prepare your resume
Once you already have the list of the companies you want to apply with then prepare your resume. Make it pleasing, keep it short and simple. Interviewers are busy people, they don’t have the whole day checking and reading what is on your resume. Remember short and concise, your resume must have the important information that is relevant to the job you are applying.
When you got lucky enough to receive a call then prepare for the day of your interview. Confidence would be your best weapon when you show up on your job interview. Remember that they will evaluate your attitude, enthusiasm and motivation.
- Be on time
Be there at least an hour or thirty minutes before the said interview, this will make a great impact in your interviewer and you would able to absorb the aura of the working environment.
The simplest thing to do before an interview is to smile, make that vibe light. That way it can give you confidence, you will look calm and pleasant look that could give the interviewer the best impression.
